  • How long does it take to become a black belt?
    Typically 4-7 years of continuous practice is required.Typically, a student will practice 4-6 hours a week. Student achiece between 1000-2000 hours of training during this time. Student must be at least 21 years old..
  • Do I have to be in good shape before I start?
    No, you will get into shape as you train. We have a series of exercises that you will learn as you progress through the ranking system which will enable you to perform the self defense techniques.
  • I am 31 years old, am I too old to start martial arts?"
    No, you are not too old to begin martial arts training. Kenpo regularly has students start from adolecense through their 50's and older. Kenpo is a practical and effective martial art that does not incorporate gymnastics.
  • I am very busy with my work schedule, how much time do I need to devote to Aikido classes?"
    Two 1 hour classes ar week are recommended, as is practicing at home. As you progress through the ranks if you be invited to add advanced and weapons classes. As a brown belt, preparing for black belt you could work out 10 or more hours a week.
  • What sort of things should I consider when choosing a school?
    First, you need to know what you are wanting to achieve with your training. If you are looking for mind, body, and energy coordination, aikido is for you. If you are wantng more education in the use of the engergy Ki, Ahsa Aikido is the leading aikido school in the state. We offer courses in Kiatsu, Aikirioho, Shiatsu and Reiki. Advanced trainings include workshops and campouts to work with the energy of natute. Second, you should feel a connection to one or more of your instructors and a feeling of comfort and enjoyment and oneness with the group should be ecperienced.
